Katherine at 7 Months

We are just going to say that Katherine is 7 months on March 1st since February is a short month.  She is still a joy and is showing us more and more of her personality.

Eating: Katherine generally has a bottle or nurses 5-6 times per day.  She usually goes 4 hours between feedings.  We are slowly introducing baby foods with her.  She has had carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans, peas and squash.  So far her least favorite appears to be green beans.  She loves carrots.  She usually eats about a third of a Stage I container and she is done.  Lately she has been opening her mouth wide when the spoon is heading her way.

Sleeping: Before her recent ear infection she had gone for 7 nights straight without waking up.  She usually nurses between  8 - 8:30 and wakes up between 6 - 6:30 if she sleeps all night.  If not, she wakes up between 2:00 - 4:00.  She has done better this week and is averaging sleeping all night every other night.  Her home schedule and school schedule are still widely different.  If she is at home she takes a long (2-hour +) nap in the mornings and two shorter naps in the afternoon and evening.

Personality: She is still a generally happy baby.  She still only cries when she is tired or hungry.  Usually tired.  She rarely cries if she is hungry.

Milestones: She is fully sitting up unassisted now.  Most days when I pick her up from school she is sitting in the floor playing with some toys or a friend.  She squeals with delight anytime Paul smiles at her.  She also smiles at anyone who smiles at her.  She also has a habit of smiling and then immediately putting her fist in her mouth.  Too funny!  She can roll over both ways but chooses not to.  That girl just doesn't get in a hurry for anything! She can bear weight well now and likes to "walk" or bounce when we help her. She loves the jumpy swing we put in the door frame.  She still sits in the Bebe Pod a lot and has not seemed to tire of the toy on it.

We are learning that Katherine seems to love music as much as Luke.  Tonight I had the radio on while I was cooking supper.  She was just bouncing up and down and laughing.  It was the cutest thing.  I ran to get the video camera, and just like Luke, she clammed up as soon as she saw it!  I will have to keep trying.
