Luke at Three Years

All we can say is how blessed we are to have our sweet Luke!  He makes us laugh everyday.  He has such a sweet disposition.  He is still a fairly laid back child.  He enjoys playing trains, tractors, and blocks.  Reading is still one of his favorite things to do.  "Shows" are also becoming quite popular with him.  He asks to watch something on TV several times a day.  We usually let him watch 30 minutes - 1 hour per day.  Sometimes he does not watch anything and he is fine with it.

Some of Luke's accomplishments:
  • Count to 20
  • Knows all the shapes including semi-circle, octogan and so on
  • Knows all the colors
  • Can recite the alphabet
  • Can spell his name
  • Recognizes every letter and knows what sound it makes
  • Has memorized a couple of books
  • Is 99.9% potty trained and has been for a few months
  • Constantly asks how things work
  • Knows his right from left
  • Recognizes his surroundings and is able to tell us how to get to the Troutts and Nonna's
  • Loves to sing and dance
  • Knows what town he lives in as well as where most everyone in our extended family lives
  • Has a very sweet relationship with Katherine that is blossoming every day
We are constantly amazed at different concepts Luke catches on to as well as how fast his vocabulary is expanding.  Lately he is saying "Well, actually..." and "so, is this how that works".  He is well-behaved for the most part and usually minds us pretty well.  The exception is when he is tired and cranky.  He has still been known to throw a fit every now and then.  We are most pleased with his relationship with others and his grasciousness.  He often thanks us for making his meal, taking him to church or buying him a treat.  We are so proud that Luke is our little boy!
